mother of spirit

A ceremonial experience to heal and integrate after pregnancy loss or release

Every pregnancy, no matter how long it lasts, ends in birth.

And this Rite of Passage into Mother deserves to be acknowledged and honored.

Even if you chose to keep the child in Spirit.

Even if no one even knew you were pregnant.

Too often, I hear women think their grief is unwarranted after an abortion or pregnancy loss because they didn't even want a child, or the pregnancy was short.

So they try to ignore the grief and stuff it down.

But my love, from the moment of conception, you touch the template of Mother.

Your body starts to prepare for nurturing and protecting this new life through hormonal changes that create bonding and emotional attachment.

And this unseen expression of Mother has gone unrecognized for far too long.

Pregnancy release and loss is an initiation into the unseen expressions of Mother that so often live in the dark.

In Mother of Spirit, we integrate a part of our path that is so often left untended — and in doing so, we reclaim our place in the great lineage of women who have known both Life and Death within their bodies.

We begin to see that this, too, is sacred.

And that the story our womb holds is not one of shame or silence — but of power, wisdom, and truth.

client testimonial

“Before the ceremony, it felt like a piece of me was missing and life would never be the same. Dana helped me to finally feel whole and at peace again. I felt so light and content, and I know that my spirit child will always be with me. I didn’t lose her.

This was a beautiful experience and I highly recommend this ceremony with Dana to anyone struggling emotionally with a pregnancy loss of any kind!”

How it works & what to expect

This is a 2 hour, intimate experience either online via Zoom, or in person at my private residence in South Lamar area of Austin, TX.

You are totally welcome to bring 1-2 close friends, family members, or a parter to join, or we can keep it just us!

Upon booking, you'll have the opportunity to fill out the intake form to share about the experience you are looking to work with and what you desire from the ceremony.

The ceremony has a structure, but are also intuitively guided and spirit-led.

Intention, grounding, and prayer: We start with ceremonial cacao or tea (offered for in-person only, otherwise bring your own cozy drink!) and grounding in our bodies and environment. We then create an energetically safe container by calling in the protection and guidance of the most high, our ancestors, and spirit guides, and set our intentions.

Storytelling: Next there is space for you to be witnessed in sharing your story. This alone can be incredibly healing if you haven't been able to do so, or if there are feelings of shame, guilt or embarrassment.

Ritual: After that, we will move through 2-3 intuitively chosen rituals for closure and emotional processing. If there are rituals from your religion that you'd like to incorporate, or any other ideas you have, feel free to share! We may incorporate the Elements (Air, Water, Fire, Earth), prayer, journaling, energy clearing, symbolism, card pulling for guidance, music/singing, or something else!

Integration: We close out the ceremony with further grounding practices such as relaxing breath work, meditation, sharing reflections and takeaways. I'll also offer any suggested follow-up rituals or practices for you to do at home.

Meet Your Facilitator

Hi love! I'm Dana.

When I was 2 years old, my 3 month old baby brother died of SIDS.

While I haven’t personally experienced pregnancy loss or release myself, I do know firsthand what it’s like to be the living child that remains after the unimaginable happens to your family.

My parents didn’t talk much about the experience. They understandably assumed that because I was so young, it wouldn’t have much impact on me.

But my whole life, I felt this unspoken sense of grief and loss that I couldn’t quite place.

Because even if we don’t have conscious memory, our bodies remember.

I fell into ceremony medicine by following my intuition. It's not something that I got certified in, it's something that came as a deep remembrance.

One day, 27 years after his death, I was led to hold my own ceremony with rituals to help me grieve what was never properly grieved.

It’s not that after that I never felt sad again. But I felt more whole and at peace after integrating the experience.

Doing it myself was powerful, but it's even more potent when you can be witnessed. And that's why I'm so excited and honored to hold this space for you!

To me, creating a ceremonial experience feels as natural as breathing. And I can't wait to share this gift with you.

You may leave this ceremony feeling…

LIGHTER

like something you didn’t even realize you were carrying has finally been released

MORE WHOLE

as if a part of you you’ve tried to push away has returned home to be loved

AT PEACE

You can finally exhale and find closure

AFFIRMED & WITNESSED

in the complexity of your experience, in the rawness of your pain, in the truth of your power

CONNECTED

realizing you have never been alone, and are part of a quiet lineage of women who know this threshold as sacred
